Benzoyl peroxide is an organic compound in the peroxide family. Benzoyl peroxide has an antibacterial effect. It also has a mild drying effect, which allows excess oils and dirt to be easily washed away from the skin.  It is one of the most important organic peroxides in terms of applications and the scale of its production.
